Larry double majored in Bible and Theatre at Bethel University in Minnesota and then became fascinated with the physics lab on campus. This curiosity and a natural proficiency led him to a career as a software engineer working with US government contractors, most notably in the White House and NASA. Yet his interests in the Bible and theatre and generally in the arts never waned; he was a Renaissance man of many talents. He was always working on projects that were a combination of technology and beauty. He acted in and directed several theatre productions, was well known for his magic tricks and shows, and produced a fantasy world for his children that combined storytelling, original music and voices. His love for Jesus Christ and for people defined his life; finding a church family was the first thing that he did upon moving to a new area (Germany, Florida, Virginia, Illinois, and most recently Langley, BC), and he enjoyed using his gifts and generous spirit to serve others. He had a soul full of music and childlike wonder and a consistent sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
Larry married Laurie Reid on December 30, 1982 in Arlington, Virginia after a whirlwind romance. His deep love and fierce loyalty for Laurie and for their three children, Micah, Luke (Jean), and Chelsea and grandchild Chrissy Matthias are his strongest legacy. His playful, generous, and creative spirit gave them the best part of himself. He is also survived by his mother, Jean Krause; sisters Kenda Lewis, Tami Farner, Sue Smith, and Julie Kuhstoss; and brothers Jeff Krause and Mike Krause.
