Gail Louise Jordan-Knox

Gail Louise Jordan-Knox (79), of Langley, B.C. passed away peacefully at Langley Memorial Hospital at 6:30 am on April 7, 2023, from a progressive neurological disorder. Gail was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Greggain of Roberts Creek, and survived by her husband, Andrew Sr., 3 children, Aleck Sr., Natasha, Andrew Jr. and her 5 grandchildren, Aleck Jr., Clara, Charles, Peterson and Ashton.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am, June 24, 2023, at Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Hwy. Langley, BC.

Gail was born to Phyllis and Art Greggain on Jan.20/44 at Royal Columbian Hospital and grew up in Port Mellon on the Sunshine Coast. She moved to the Lower Mainland after high school and has lived here ever since. After a series of interesting jobs, she met her husband to be in 1973, and they both decided to go back to university as mature students. Gail was unsure about this as she was 30 at the time. Not surprisingly Gail applied herself, as she did to everything in her life, and graduated with honours in 1980, from Home Ec. at UBC, and was immediately hired by LSS in Langley, where she taught grade 11 &12 Home Ec. becoming beloved, I am told, by her students, until her daughter Natasha was born in 1985. Although Gail took one year of university for every year that she taught, it was this achievement that made her realize that she could do anything that she set her mind to.

Gail spent the rest of her life devoting her time and energy to her family, husband, church, children, and her children’s schools. She loved to organize events, so she spent many years as President of the PAC and chaired the Dry Grad Committee for 2 years, all while attending innumerable concerts and baseball games. In her spare time, she did the bookkeeping for her husband’s dental practice, and contributed enormously at staff meeting. At church she was a long-time member of women’s groups and a co-teacher of the Premarital Class for many years. Gail’s strong faith gives her family comfort in this difficult time.

Gail loved to be active, whether sewing, cooking, exercising, biking, skiing and especially kayaking in the Gulf Islands. She was an outstanding first mate and never complained no matter how bad the weather or rough the sea.

Her laugh was unique, and she loved to use it, so I always knew where she was.

She will be sorely missed by many, and she left her mark wherever she went.
