Diane passed away peacefully at the Langley Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in her 85th year. Daughter of the late Peter and Edith (Gutteridge) Woodward; and sister of the late Jennifer Tebby, Audrey Kelly and Rosemary Redden. Beloved wife of the late George Edward Trick and the late Henry William Smyth. Survived by her loving sons Donald (Allison), Patrick (Jennifer), Thomas and Peter (Lynn); stepdaughters Carol (Mike), Linda (Grant), Susan (Tom); sisters Dorothy Johnstone and Margaret Marriott; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Born in Wells, BC on February 20, 1938, the Woodward clan spent time in Vancouver before settling in Victoria in 1947, where Diane graduated from Mount View High School in 1955. Her career was diverse having spent time as an Elementary School Teacher, a member of the RCAF, and a Public Servant with the Province of BC until her retirement in 2003. Diane had a love of travel and visited many places during her lifetime; she particularly loved her last trip to Singapore, Australia and SE Asia with her sister, Dorothy. Diane was an extraordinary lady who lived life to the fullest.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation. Flowers gratefully declined in favor of a memorial contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society.
