Debbie is predeceased by her father and mother, Palmerino and Elvira DeVito; Mother in Law Barbara Schwartz. She is survived by her husband Mitch; daughters Melanie and Sydney; sister Mary (Ron); nieces and nephews Rina, Paul (Alisha), Nick and Jill; great niece Kaleya; brother in law Kelly (Donna); Father in Law Jerry Schwartz; And many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Debbie was born in Vancouver and graduated from Van Tech High school in 1979. She began her career at Jim Pattison car dealership in Vancouver and finished at Langley Gold Key Volkswagen and Izuzu where she was a part of the Gold Key family for 35 years. She wore many hats while working there and was appreciated for all her hard work and dedication.
Debbie had a laugh that lit up a room, and she made sure everyone in that room felt welcomed and loved. She was very proud of her two daughters and loved them very much. She also loved having friends over to her bar for good laughs and good times.
In her younger years, Debbie loved playing softball, going camping, and attending Italian banquets. In more recent years, she loved taking trips with her daughters, The Nightmare Before Christmas, her cat Murray, Disneyland, Christmas, her Hell Chicks (her girlfriends), and most of all she loved floating down the Penticton river channel on a nice sunny day with a cold drink in hand.
Debbie touched the lives of everyone she met and will be loved and remembered by all.
A celebration of life will be held at Newlands Bar and Grill Lounge on Saturday, January 28th at 2 pm.
