Stephen Paul Blum, 81 years of age, passed away peacefully on November 28th, 2022, at home with his family by his side. He was born on April 17th, 1941, in Lancaster Ohio, the son of Dr Paul and Ruth Blum. His parents preceded him in death as well as his son Gregory Blum, daughter Jennifer (Blum) Clark and granddaughter Nicole Shahan. Steve grew up in Lancaster, OH and was a graduate of Lancaster High School in 1959. He was an avid member of the golf team that inspired a life-long love of the game. Together with his friends and family, Steve played on courses throughout the United States including Hawaii. He attended the Ohio State University where he studied veterinary medicine. He had a love for animals and was a good Samaritan, always willing to help an animal or person in need. You could often find him in his back yard at his home in Dublin, feeding the squirrels and birds and watching the deer. Steve had a charisma that allowed him to strike up a conversation and make friends wherever he would go. His outgoing personality made him a natural fit as a salesman, and he eventually retired from a long-tenured career at Pipe Valves Inc. He is survived by his wife Annadelle (Wolever) Blum, sisters Sue Blum and Nancy Blum, brother Perry Blum, daughters Stephanie (Mike) Shahan and Allison (Dr Charles) Cook. His stepchildren Brad Haynes, DeAnn (Rainy) Murphy, Tara (Christopher) Brenning, nephews Nicholas Blum and Justin Blum Grandchildren Nic (Brandy) Shahan, Charles (Remy) Cook, Evan Cook, Katelyn Clark and Ellie Clark Step-grandchildren Sadira Brenning, Hailey Brenning, Sylas Brenning, Rowdy Murphy, Sean Murphy, and Brody Murphy. Great Grandchildren Bentley Shahan and Bayliee Shahan. Steve will be remembered for his quick-witted sense of humor. He always had a joke and nickname for all his colleagues, friends, and family. Known to those close to him was his strong sense of patriotism, a love of frank and honest conversation as well as an appreciation for the simple things in life. Memorial services and visitation will be Thursday, December 8th at the Halteman- Fett & Dyer Funeral Home located at 436 N Broad St. Lancaster, Ohio. The hours for visitation at the funeral home will be from 9am-11am with service immediately following.
