Paul A. Wagner, age 90 of Millersport, passed away Sunday, August 24th at his home surrounded by family. Born June 22, 1924 in Pleasantville, Ohio he was the son of Albert and Elsie Wagner and was a 1943 Pleasantville High School graduate. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W. II., having served in France and Germany, and was employed at the Newark Air Force Station for 37 years and retired 1991. He was attached to Battery C, 174th Field Artillery Battalion, Zanesville Army National Guard, and was a member of the 364th Engineer Group with the U.S. Army Reserves in Columbus, Ohio. Paul was a member of Pleasantville United Methodist Church where he served as church organist for over 40 years, and served with the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Dept.
Survived by his wife of 70 years Helena “ Lee” (Holliday) Wagner, son Don (Teresa) Wagner, his daughter Becky (Raymond) Carpenter, granddaughters; Jessica Dawn Wagner, Jenna Christine Wagner, step-granddaughter, Kasey Carpenter, sister-in-law Karen Wagner, nieces, nephews and cousins .
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Wagner and his sister Mary (Wagner) Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, followed by a Veterans Military Service at the church. Burial will be at Glen Rest Memorial Gardens, Reynoldsburg, preceded by a luncheon at the church. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, 436 N. Broad St., Lancaster, Ohio.
