Martin Strawn

Martin Ritz Strawn, 90, of Carroll, passed away Wednesday January 6, 2021 at his residence. Martin was born on January 3, 1931 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Harry and Carrie Unger Strawn. He attended the First Church of God in Lancaster and First Baptist Church of Carroll. Martin was retired from Essex and Bloom-Carroll Schools. He enjoyed family, traveling, woodworking, church activities and Warsaw and Anderson camp meetings. Martin loved the Lord and his wife and family most of all. Martin is survived by his children, Jerry Lee (Cheryl) Strawn, Jennifer Lynn Turley, Jessica Marie (Randy) Devol and daughter-in law, Patricia Musser Strawn; grandchildren, Matthew (Tracy) Strawn , Melissa Litchfield, Michelle (Curtis) Collins, Meggan (Rick) Bush, Brandi Strawn, Jedidiah Strawn, Monique (Sean) Fox and Jacqueline (Ryan) Nida; 13 great grandchildren, 4 great-great children; brothers, Leo (Kay) Strawn, Samuel (Vonda) Strawn, sisters, Florence (Edward) Tipple , Alta Darlene (Phillip) Ruff and many nieces and nephews.

Martin was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Bonnie Lea Strawn, son, Jeffery Martin Strawn, sister, Evangeline (Virgil) Hull, brother, Lester (Edna) Strawn. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday January 15, 2021 at Greenfield Twp. Cemetery, Carroll. Private family visitation will be held at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home.
