Margaret M. “Peg” Smith, age 80, of Lancaster, formerly of Shelby, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at her residence. Margaret was a graduate of Ohio University, with a master of fine arts degree.
Member of Lancaster Rose Quilters, Fairfield Heritage Association, First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster
Peg was an avid seamstress and quilter; costumier for BalletMet in Columbus, Pickerington High Schools and various other theatrical organizations.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Ronald N. Smith, daughters; Terri (Richard) Fosnaugh, Christy (Brian) White and Judy Smith, grandchildren; Laurie (Shane) Kays, Matt (Tyline) White, Becca (Seth) Geib, great-grandson, Aydan Noel Kays, brother Fred (Mickey) Garvin, nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Mildred Garvin, sisters; Anne Van Tilberg, Jeanne Zoltai, Elaine Santo and Audrey Crone.
Dignity Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 15, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church, 222 N. Broad St., Lancaster, Ohio with Rev. Matthew Richardson officiating. Family will receive friends in the Heritage Room at 10:30 AM.at the church prior to services.
