Kathleen Marie Wingenter

Kathleen Marie Wingenter, 76, of Lancaster passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Pickering House. Kathy was born on April 1, 1948 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late William F. and Charlotte W. (Spires) Berens. She was the sweetest soul and will be remembered for her gentle spirit and kindness towards others. Her unshakeable faith and strength she demonstrated through the last few years was truly remarkable. Kathy will be greatly missed by her family.

Kathy is survived by her children, Lori Wingenter; Julia Wingenter; Amy (Marcel) Rabe; grandchildren, Avi and Eric Rabe, and George Wingenter; siblings, Carol Short, Mary Angela Berens, Constance Berens, Ben (Jerilea) Berens, Helen Berens, Randall (Deborah) Berens, Richard (Becky) Berens, and Alan (Tricia) Berens; sister-in-law Charlotte P. Berens; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, William Francis Berens; brother in law, Tom Short; niece, Denise Ann Berens; and Hans and Roly Rabe.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption at 10:30AM with Fr. Craig Eilerman officiating. Burial is to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 5PM-8PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with a Vigil Service taking place at 7:30PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairhope Hospice (282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130) or Maywood Mission (1029 S. Broad St. Lancaster, OH 43130) in memory of Kathy.
