James “Jim” H. Hipple, 77 of Lancaster, OH passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2023 at the Pickering House. He was born in Greenville, Ohio on August 29, 1945 to the late Stanford H. Hipple and Erma I. (Wilcox) Hipple. Jim and his wife Sharon graduated from Mississinawa Valley High School. He also graduated from Indiana Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Goodyear Atomic in Piketon, OH and retired from Diamond Power in Lancaster, OH after 37 years. Jim held several patents from both Diamond Power and Goodyear Atomic. He enjoyed restoring antique John Deere equipment, working on many tractors, engines and corn shellers. Jim belonged to many tractor clubs and enjoyed traveling to tractor shows with Sharon.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Grimes) Hipple; daughter, Tricia (Michael) Daubenmire; grandchildren, Cory (Kayla) Daubenmire, and Ethan Daubenmire; great-grandson, Theodore Daubenmire; brother, Shirley (Janet) Hipple; nieces, Stacy Wheeler, and Roxanna Hipple; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Margaret Hipple; nephew, Tony Hipple; and his father and mother in law, James and Thelma Grimes.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 12:30PM at New Teegarden Cemetery (2753 Ohio State Route 47, Ansonia, OH 45303).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FairHoPe Hospice (282 Sells Rd Lancaster, OH 43130) in memory of Jim.
