Alvida moved to Lancaster, Ohio and became a huge staple in the community. She retired from Anchor Hocking Plant One after 31 years. She was an active member of The Lutheran Church of our Savior. She belonged to Olivedale and enjoyed many outings, a member of The Eagles Auxiliary and volunteered in the community. She always had a song in her heart and a craft in her hand, doing needlepoint and other arts and crafts.
She loved to travel and some of her fondest memories were traveling with two of her sisters to their homeland of Norway. Visiting her daughter in law's home country of South Korea. An Alaskan cruise and a hot air balloon ride on her 80th Birthday.
Her biggest joys were raising her two children, Roberta and Karl, and her beloved granddaughter Angela and her great grandson Yiannis.
Alvida was preceded in death by her husband Karl L. Denton, parents Oscar and Anna, brothers Everett, Kenneth, Benneth and Donald; sisters, Elda, Barbara, Geneva and Ramona. She is survived by her daughter Roberta (James) Irwin of Santa Fe NM, son Karl (Yun Soon) Denton of Lancaster and her granddaughter Angela (Christopher) Papazoglou and beloved great grandson Yiannis of Chappaqua, NY. Two sisters, Carrol Braseth of St. Cloud, Mn. and Rachel Anderson of Hawley, Mn. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at The Lutheran Church of our Savior on February 10th at 10:00am with visitation an hour before the services.
The family would like to thank Seniors Helping Seniors, Main Street Terrace Care Center and FairHope Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving care of Alvida in her final days.
