Margery was preceded in life by her parents, Ernest and Grace Wallem, her husband, Douglas, her daughters, Carolyn Shears and Janis Shiverdecker, and her grandson, Robert Lehman. She is survived by her grandchildren, Larry Shears, Kim Shears, and Janelle Stephens, her five great grandchildren Emily Ball, Mindy Clagg, Daniel Stephens, Allie Stephens, and Chase Lehman and her great great grandchild Eli Ball.
Margery was born in Fergus Falls Minnesota on February 4, 1921. She moved to Santa Monica California in the 1930’s and later up to the Antelope Valley in the 1950’s where she would spend the rest of her life with family and friends. Margery worked for the Bank of America for many years in new accounts. She was an immaculate seamstress and did many tailor alterations for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and organizing trips. She loved to dance and was a member of the local dance troop The Boogie Woogie Mamas! She was involved for countless years with the local Masonic Temple, which included Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls, and Job’s Daughters. Margery also was an avid reader and loved playing puzzles. Above all she put her family and friends first and never forgot a single birthday or anniversary.
Margery’s celebration of life will take place at Joshua Memorial is Lancaster on Friday, April 8th, at 9:30 am.
