Guadalupe R. Lopez, 74, of Tehachapi, CA, passed away on November 13, 2011. Born on December 11, 1936 in Atenguillo, Jalisco, Mexico. His family moved to Tijuana, Baja California when he was 6 years old. At age 18 he immigrated to the United States. Soon after, he immigrated his mother and siblings to the states. As the eldest child he took on the head of household role in supporting the family. In 1959 he settled in Tehachapi, CA where he worked at Monolith Cement Plant for over 30 years. In 1967 he married Maria Francisca Bermudez and started a family of his own.
Guadalupe was passionate about life and enjoyed many interests including photography, dancing, poetry and composing music. He was a skilled musician and singer and also received a certificate in Radio Broadcasting. Most importantly he was a man with a strong family value and a man of faith. He shared his singing talent with his church’s choir and was a member of The Guadalupe Society. In the early 1994 he became a US citizen and was a proud voter that never missed an election
He is survived by his Wife, Maria F. Lopez; Sons, Mario (Wife, Amanda) Lopez, Sergio Lopez; Daughters, Marisol Lopez, Francella Lopez, Monika Lopez; Grandchildren, Alexis Lopez, Vanessa Meraz, Vicktoria Lopez, Mario Lopez and Daniel Meraz; Brothers, Jorge Lopez, Rito Jose Lopez, Ricardo Lopez; Sister, Paulita Sanchez, Consuelo Lopez and Graciela Arellano. A Rosary Service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 9:00 am. Both services will be held at St. Malachy Roman Catholic Church in Tehachapi, California. A Committal Service will be held immediately following the Mass at Tehachapi Cemetery West.
