Born in Lakewood, he was a lifelong resident. Eric had attended Ocean County College where he played on their baseball team. Eric played semi pro football and softball with his notorious number 5 jersey for many years. He loved baseball and all kinds of sports and he coached his son's football and baseball teams.
Eric worked as a crew supervisor for Leisure Village East in Lakewood.
He is survived by his wife, Christina Galarza, three sons; Zachary Kencik, Max Kencik and Cameron Galarza, his mother, Martha Galarza and her companion, Robert Taub, his father, Julio Galarza, and two brothers; Eliud and Carlos Rodruguez. Eric is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and beloved cat, Kitty.
Viewing hours will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, N.J. Anyone planning on attending please wear your favorite sports jersey. A funeral service will be held at 8:30 p.m. during the viewing hours by Rev. Angel L. Ortiz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to the Manchester Little League.
