Dorothy Turnbull, 96, of Wall Township, died on December 18, 2022. Dorothy was raised and spent her early life in Kearny New Jersey. She worked at the Newark Arts Museum until she retired. Dorothy had a passion for reading which lasted her lifetime. She enjoyed playing bridge when not watching the Yankees, whom she followed from Babe Ruth to Aaron Judge. Summers were spent at her parents home in Belmar, where she loved taking her younger cousins in her powder blue convertible to Schatzows Five & Dime for pails and shovels before cruising to the Eighth Ave beach. After retiring, Dorothy moved to Fort Lauderdale Florida, where she spent many days on the golf course becoming a very good golfer. She relocated back to New Jersey, moving to Leisure Village in Lakewood. She spent the last year of her life at the Wellington Estates in Wall. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Charles and Rose, and her sister Edith. Dorothy and Edith were not only sisters but best friends. She is survived by many cousins throughout the country.
A memorial service will be private and any contributions can be made in Dorothy‘s name to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
