Vivian Lavonne Montague was born in Denver, Colorado to Emma Z. Zimmerman Jacoby and Henry Jacoby in the Baker Neighborhood of Denver. She was a beloved daughter to her parents, and a well loved sister to Jake and Cathy. She graduated from West High School in 1954, and was married soon after on August 1, 1954.
Vivian worked for Colorado National bank, from 1954 until she and her husband welcome their first son, Steven in 1957. Steven was followed by Jeffrey in 1958, and finally by David in 1959. Vivian's title changed from wife and banker to Mother and Domestic Goddess. To take care of her beloved boys Vivian started working at multiple retail shops in the Bear Valley Shopping Center, retiring in 2005.
When Vivian wasn't working she could be found cooking, baking, winning several singing competitions, dancing, writing jingles, thanking the Lord for her good sense of humor, or spending time with her precious sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and siblings. She never missed out on an opportunity to talk her everyone she loved, and many times spent hours on the phone with her sister if they couldn't get out to see each other.
On January 10, 2024, Vivian took her final breath in the this world at her home in Denver surrounded by those she loved. She was 87 years old. Vivian joins her parents, Henry and Emma; brother Elroy "Jake", sister, Cathy; and her son, Jeffrey. She is survived her her sons, Steven and David; grandchildren, Kenny, Misty, Sara, Amber, Josh, Britni, Brooke, and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Deja, Khya, Jovan, Yancy, Francisco, Neveah, Isaias, Rusty, Kaleb, Sawyer, Ryan, Avery, Oaklee, Greyson, Landyn, Leyton, Declyn, Kenny Jr., Jonah, Kyle and one baby on the way; one great-great grandchild Isla.
A funeral service for Vivian will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 at 1PM, with a burial to follow at 2:30PM. Please check back for service location.
Vivian will be laid to rest in Olinger Mount Lindo Cemetery, Morrison, Colorado.
