Richard John Schmaus

Richard John Schmaus, beloved father, friend, and devoted husband, passed away peacefully in his home, on November 3d, 2024. He waited until both of his cherished sons were by his side before he was called to his eternal rest, touching hearts and leaving behind memories that will last a lifetime. Richard’s final moments came when the angel touched his heart, and he was finally at peace—ready to reunite with his loving wife, Sally, in heaven.

Born on May 21st, 1931, Richard was known for his warmth, sense of adventure, and deep love for the people and things that mattered most to him. He had a profound passion for the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting, where he found solace and joy in the natural world. But beyond these passions, it was the love he had for his family and friends that defined his life.

Richard is survived by his two sons, who were the pride of his life, as well as his cherished friends who have supported him through the years. His beloved dog, Traviessa, was by his side until the very end, a constant companion and faithful friend who brought him much joy.

Richard’s legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a man whose spirit will never be forgotten, especially by his sons, who carry with them his strength and wisdom. Although he will be greatly missed, those who loved him take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with Sally, his soulmate, and the love of his life.

A celebration of Richards life will be held on November 30th, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at 1050 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, CO 80226.
