Fun loving 89 year old Mary V. Anderson passed away at Littleton Adventist Hospital on January 5, 2016, just one week shy of her 90th birthday.
A funeral mass will be held at noon on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Littleton, Colorado with Father Joseph Hearty officiating. Immediately following the mass a Celebration of Life will be held in the church hall. Mary’s ashes will be interned at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado at a later date.
She was born January 12, 1926 in Laporte, Colorado and was the youngest of five children of Daniel and Adelaida Apodaca. Mary was raised in the Fort Collins area and lived most of her life in Denver and Littleton. She married Ray Leroy Anderson in 1948. She was an avid bowler, accomplished angler, flower gardener and holiday decorating deva with a unique sense of humor.
Mary was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Littleton and its Sunshine Girls group. As a resident of the Bradley House, she was very active in bingo,singing, Friday Rosary and sending special occasion cards to the many residents.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ray Leroy Anderson as well as her parents Daniel and Adelaida Apodaca and her siblings: Soveida Apodaca, Lewis Apodaca, Adolph Apodaca and Della (Wilbur) Baker.
She is survived by daughter Candie Patino (Rogelio) of Berthoud, CO and son David Anderson (Marsha) of Oklahoma, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of her friends for the support they have given her through the years.
