1934 – 2025
Margaret P. Aragon, affectionately known as Margie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, Margie lived a full and beautiful life rooted in love, family, and simple joys.
She is survived by her loving children: sons Mike Aragon (Sarah) and Monte Aragon (Adina); daughters Teresa Aragon (Rick) and Tina Valenzuela (Richard). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Bernardo Duran, Joseph Duran (Carly), Gabriel Duran, Chevie Coronado, Nate Coronado, Damian Aragon (Rebecca), Lily Ramos, Miranda Gomez, Isabella Rotella, Tina Valenzuela (Ashley) as well as her great-grandchildren: Jasper Bailey, Iceiz Alvarez, Noah, Ben, and Mila Duran, Alonzo Aragon, Amelia and Stella Valenzuela.
She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers Louie Canchola and George Canchola (Yvonne); sisters Vicky Dorfler, Isabel Rael, Virginia Patterson, Ruthy Ontiveros, and Juanita Mascarenas, and numerous nieces and nephews who brought her great joy.
Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Louis M. Aragon Jr., her cherished grandson Mikey Bailey, and daughter-in-law Julie Aragon. She also joins her parents, John F. Canchola and Mary G. Olivas Canchola, and her siblings: John Canchola (Virgie), Frank Canchola, Andy Canchola, Tony Canchola (Gloria), Ellie Mosco (Pelo), Angie Gallegos (Manual), Marian Sabian (John), and Isabella Wallis (Walt) and sister-in-law Frances Aragon Mascarenas.
Born and raised in rural Colorado, Margie spent her early years in La Salle and Penrose growing up as a country girl before making Denver her home in 1951. In 1952, she began her long and dedicated career at Gates Rubber Company, where she worked until her retirement in 1991. It was there she met Louis, and they were married in 1953, building a life together filled with love and family.
Margie had an unmatched warmth and a generous spirit. She was a proud collector of dolls, each one a small reflection of her personality and passion. She found joy in cooking for her loved ones and took pride in decorating her home with care and creativity.
Though she has left this world, Margie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM both at Advantage Runyan-Stevenson Capitol, 6425 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO 80226. Funeral procession will start at 12:00 PM from the funeral home to the cemetery. Graveside committal service will be held at 1:00 PM, Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 12801 W. 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Reception will be following graveside services immediately at Golden Corral, 3677 S. Santa Fe Dr., Sheridan, CO 80110.
