

Ethel Helen Gomez, beloved mother, grandmother, and co-owner of the historic "Ethel's Beauty Salon", passed away peacefully in Colorado on March 28th, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on April 10th, 1936, to Annie Cruz and Epifanio Romero, Ethel's journey through life was defined by her deep love for family, her passion for her work in cosmetology, and her unwavering devotion to her community.
Ethel’s life was forever intertwined with that of her late husband, Gilbert C. Gomez, as they built a legacy together that would endure for generations. As co-owners of the iconic "Ethel's Beauty Salon" in Lakewood, Colorado, they created a welcoming space where relationships were formed, and memories made. Their partnership was more than just business; it was a testament to the love they shared. Together, they left an indelible mark on the community, earning appearances in local newspapers and news channels, and their salon remains a beloved fixture in the state's history.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother, and her son, Timothy G. Gomez. She is now reunited with Gilbert, her partner in life and love.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Lisa, son Leslie and daughter / granddaughter Sunshine followed by children and great grand and great great grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication.
Ethel’s family and friends will gather to honor her life on her birthday, Thursday, April 10th, with a rosary at 9:30 AM and a Mass at 10:00 AM at the Church of All Saints, located at 2559 S Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80219. Following the service, the family invites all to join them for a reception at the Elks Lodge, 1455 Newland St, Lakewood, CO, to celebrate Ethel’s life and the love she shared with everyone she met.
Ethel will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Gilbert, on Friday, April 11th, at 12:30 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a 20-minute committal service, with those attending asked to arrive 15 minutes early at the staging area.
Ethel's love and light will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, Ethel Helen Gomez. Together with Gilbert, you will dance forever in Heaven.
