Ernest Munoz, a man of warmth, humor, and generosity, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 2, 1942, in Trinidad, CO, Ernest was the beloved son of Sam and Mary Munoz, and one of 14 siblings. Ernest is preceded by his parents; his son, Ernie; 1 granddaughter, Mili; 7 brothers, Filbert, Richard, Roger, John, Frank, Jesse and Leroy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Beatrice; loving daughters, Tina Preisser and Sheila (Terry) Williams; 10 grandchildren, Audrina, Raffael, Samuel, Angela, Ariel, Ernie, Natia, David, Jesse, Aaron and Alice; 10 great-grandchildren, Alayah, Daejah, Maliah, Aria, Kai, Leeloo and Luca; 1 brother, Sam; 5 sisters, Irene, Elizabeth, Diana, Theresa, Rose Ann and a multitude of extended family and friends.
Ernest married his high school sweetheart Beatrice and raised 3 children son Ernie, and daughters Tina and Sheila. At the age of 16, Ernest found his first job in a barbershop, where his diligent work ethic soon earned him the opportunity to establish his own barbershop. However, it was in his role as a mechanic for RTD where he truly flourished, dedicating many years of service until his retirement in 2000. Beyond his professional endeavors, Ernest was an avid outdoorsman. He found joy in gardening, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Music was another passion. His melodious voice and skilled guitar playing filled the air with country ballads, creating cherished memories for his children.
The viewing and rosary will be on Thursday June 20th from 5pm-7pm at Advantage Runyan Stevenson in Lakewood. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Ernest's remarkable life will be held on Friday, June 21st, at 11 am at the Ralston’s Crossing Event Center in Arvada. Following the service, a reception will be held in the garden at Ralston’s Crossing. Ernest will be laid to rest at Trujillo Creek Cemetery in Aguilar, CO on Friday, June 28th at 1PM. Ernest Munoz will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his infectious laughter, kind heart, and profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
