Eleanor Inez Williams was born March 20, 1925, in Salida, Colorado to the late Harold B and Viola Jeanette Woods. Her brother, Lawrence, preceded her in death.
Eleanor moved to Saguache, Colorado in the San Luis Valley to a ranch at the age of four. She attended school in Saguache, riding the bus six miles each way and enjoyed it all! At the age of thirteen, Eleanor’s family moved from the ranch and Saguache to Salida, Colorado. There she graduated from Salida High School as valedictorian in 1943. She attended CU Boulder for one year and then went to DU School of Commerce for one year. She married Frederick “Fritz” Williams in 1945. They had four delightful, lively, pesky, loveable children; two boys and two girls. Norman, Gordon, Janet, and Joyce. The children then married: Janet (deceased), Chris, Gary Ferris, and William “Bill “Long. They gave Eleanor eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Fritz preceded Eleanor in death after a long illness in 1982. She then found happiness in her longtime companion, Bill Taliafero (deceased) who enjoyed Eleanor’s fondness of dancing, music, traveling, fishing, and working out in the yard. She will be greatly missed by all.
