Barbara spent her final moments in Comanche, Oklahoma. She passed into heaven as the chaplain said a prayer over her, surrounded by family.
She was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and never hesitated to get in a car, a bus, or a plane when she had the opportunity to be with family. She never stopped, no matter her age or her health. And, most important to her, she had the opportunity to spend meaningful time with each of her children during her final years. She finished her life the way she had always planned.
She is survived by five siblings, Rudy, Ralph, Carol, Linda, David; Seven children, Ketti Brown, Conni Luttrull (Denny), William Fisher (Kathy), Cinderella Brady, Edward Fisher II, Dee Rae Clarke, and Dale Fisher (Nicole); as well as countless grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom was preceded in death by our brother, Chris R. Fisher.
There are no words that could describe who she was, but to visualize her is a treat. From her hair bow to her jewelry, her color coordination, her independence, and her unwavering need to help, she never stopped moving. Her gift was giving, and she gave all of herself to anyone who needed it. She had a gift for every occasion and didn’t miss anything. And don’t forget to count your $2 bills, a gift for a lifetime.
Mom will be most remembered by her incredibly faithful connection to those around her. In the early days it was letters, cards, and phone calls. As the years went by she continued to use these methods but added email, text message, and even video chat. She reached out to so many people on a daily basis, some by phone, but mostly text messages with copious emojis! These daily messages became a staple of so many lives and they will be sorely missed.
We, her children, want to say thank you, both for being a part of her life, and for letting her be a part of yours. She was grateful for and loved all of you. If you only met her once, or knew her for a lifetime, she loved you. But remember, Jesus loves you more.
Please join us for a celebration of her life, a life well lived and one that will be well remembered, on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 5:30PM at Advantage Runyan Stevenson, 6425 W. Alameda Ave. Lakewood, CO 80226. Light refreshments will follow, also at Advantage Runyan Stevenson.
