Victoria Ann Gomez, also fondly known by family and friends as Tori, passed away on April 26, 2023 following a 3 year battle with cancer. She died at home peacefully with her loving family by her side.
Tori was born on December 15, 1980 in Corpus Christi, TX to Victor and Dee Dee Gomez. She graduated from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi in 1999. Tori graduated with Permanent Honor Roll status, was a member of the National Honor Roll Society, and received honorary award recognition in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. She was also a member of the the Mary Carroll Tigerettes Dance Team. Victoria then studied at the University of Texas at San Antonio where she pursued and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Tori worked for Syneos Health formerly INC Research as a Clinical Research Team Leader for various types of cancer studies. She received various accolades, awards, and promotions for her dedication, bravery, and commitment to the company and her team. Her work took her all over the United States and even abroad.
Tori was a loving and devoted mommy to her wonderful children. She endured several debilitating treatments and fought courageously with grace and dignity until her last breath for her beloved Tristan, Sienna, and Max. They were her world and reason for being. In her words, she loved them like crazy.
Victoria and her children were parishioners at St John Neumann Catholic Church. Tori was an active volunteer at her children’s school, Forest Trial Elementary, for as long as her illness allowed. She was also very involved in her community.
Her hobbies and interests included spending time with her family and friends, traveling, collecting art, listening to music, attending concerts with her brother and friends, growing plants, watching movies, collecting vintage clothing, jewelry, and furniture; as well as spending time in the sun.
Though her life was short, she lived it to the fullest. Her many travels included trips to Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, the Netherlands, Spain, England, France, Peru, Argentina, Cancun, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, and many states within the United States.
Tori is survived by her children, Tristan Harris (12), Sienna Victoria Harris (10), Max Harris (10); her parents Victor and Dee Dee Gomez; her brother, Robert Gomez; Uncle Jorge Gomez (Jane); Aunt Gracie Wallace (Gary); Uncle Robert Olivarez (Nilda); Uncle Marc Olivarez (Yvette); and several much loved cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Rufina Olivarez and paternal grandparents, Humberto and Alma Gomez.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me
the crown of righteousness.
