Tonya Marie Tully

Tonya Marie Tully passed away after a lengthy illness on January 22, 2024. She was born in Bangor ME, to Dave and Bonnie Austin on September 4, 1966. Being in an Air Force family, her formative years were spent all over the world, including Guam and Germany. Her parents retired to northwest Louisiana where she married her husband and started a family. While there, she worked for a major big box retailer in the early '90's and started one of the first computerized baby and bridal registry systems. This presented an opportunity for her family to relocate to Austin, TX, which would be her forever home.

With the birth of her second son, she took a job with LTISD working as a teaching assistant in the Special Ed. Dept. She continued on in that job for 17 years, working with special needs children. Tonya also frequently volunteered for Special Olympics events including basketball, track, bowling, and even coached bicycling for a couple of years. Two and a half years ago, she was very excited to become a Grandma (Grammy). Tonya enjoyed going shopping, a good novel, candles, going to car races, TV, and sunny warm Daytona Beach. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends during cookouts, birthdays, and holidays. Tonya was an amazing mom, wife, and friend and will be celebrated by her family forever.

She is survived by her children, John David Tully & Scott Michael Tully; her husband, Telle F. Tully; sister, Kimberly J. Austin; brother, David D. Austin; niece, Tabytha K. Wilson; nephews, David Austin and Jason Austin.

A funeral service will be held for Tonya on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, 411 Ranch Road 620 South, in Lakeway, Texas. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home.
