Linda (nee Preusser) Greenwald, 31 August 1948, asleep in Jesus 10 April 2022 in Lakeway, Texas. Linda was born in St. Louis, Missouri the second daughter of Richard and Wilma (nee Althage) Preusser. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on 3 October 1948 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Louis, attended the Holy Cross Lutheran School, was confirmed on 15 April 1962 and Graduated from Lutheran High School South, Affton, Missouri in 1966. She attended Concordia Lutheran Teachers College – Seward, Nebraska until 1969 when she married her high school sweetheart, Ted Greenwald. She completed her College Degree at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) in 1972.
Linda followed her husband Ted to Houston, TX, then to Bahrain for 4 years. Linda demonstrated her faith and love for Jesus in Bahrain, by being involved in Sunday Schools, teaching children’s music and playing organ for the Sunday Services at the US Navy Chapel. In 1978, Ted and Linda returned to Houston, TX and began growing their family with Dori Lynn and then Michael Thomas. In 1984, Linda and her family moved to Okpo, South Korea where Linda began teaching Sunday School to the Expatriate children living in the resident compound. In 1985 she moved with her family back to Bahrain until 1986 when the family moved back to Houston, TX.
Linda began working at St. Philip Lutheran Church as a preschool teacher. In 1989, Linda completed her Colloque program at Concordia University Texas -- Austin becoming a Called Minister of the Gospel. St. Philip Called her as Director of Children’s Music & Ministries; then Director of Children’s Ministries and Preschool; then Director of Children and Adult Ministries; and Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor. In 2008, Linda accepted a call to serve Concordia University Texas – Austin as Executive Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the College of Business, a position she held until her retirement in September 2016.
Linda was diagnosed in August 2018 with Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD), a progressive disease presenting itself by Aphasia. As she continued to decline, Ted maintained her at home until March 2020 when she entered the Auberge at Bee Cave, a memory care facility. She resided there until her death.
Linda is mourned by her husband, Ted Greenwald, daughter Dori and husband Eric Triplett, son Michael Greenwald and Nicole Figueroa, sister Carol (Preusser) Spyers; grand-children Caroline and Kinley Triplett; Emerson and Hudson Greenwald and numerous cousins, friends and work colleagues.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home RR 620 South, Lakeway, Texas. A visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 9:00 AM with Funeral Services at 10:00 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church 3701 W. Slaughter Lane, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park Cemetery.
