Donna was born a fifth generation German and Polish Texan on October 3, 1968 to Nicholas and Jane Tudyk in San Antonio, Texas, was baptized and confirmed at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in San Antonio, attended Wheatley High School where she excelled at the flute in the high school band. Donna received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Trinity University in 1990.
After graduation, she married Robert (Bob) Burke of Natick, Massachusetts on January 19, 1991 in San Antonio at the Trinity University Chapel, then relocated to Austin to start their life together. Donna and Bob shared a life filled with family, friends, love and fun during their 25 years of marriage. They shared a lifelong deep belief in God and in their Catholic faith and have been members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin for over 24 years.
Donna's passion for life played out in everything she did including her career and personal pursuits. She was a software engineer for over 20 years developing and accrediting software for a variety of national security and intelligence uses. She excelled in her career, mostly driven by her desire to do her part to help support our troops. After 20 years, Donna decided to spend more time at home, helping family and friends, traveling and taking care of her beloved Brittany Spaniels. Donna's care for others was most exemplified throughout her battle with cancer, frequently encouraging and supporting others also battling cancer.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas E. Tudyk. She is survived by her husband Bob Burke, her mother Jane Tudyk and sisters (Jacqueline Baer, Shirley Moy, and Darlene Brietzke), parents-in-law, George and Maria Burke, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Uncles and Aunts, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and too many friends to count. Although she didn't have any children of her own, she was like a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews and many that knew her.
Donna had a generous heart, quiet strength, always full of joy and a very compassionate servant. She will be dearly missed by everyone and will forever be in our hearts and prayers. The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to her care givers over the past 14 months at Texas Oncology, St David's, Hospice Austin and Heavenly Care Home Health in Austin.
