Carol was born on July 14,1963 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Jeannette and Stephen Barna. She graduated from Linden High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mary Mount College in Tarrytown, NY. This beautiful area along the Hudson River held a special place in Carol's heart as this is where she met her future husband, Tom Anderson, who attended The United States Military Academy at West Point.
Upon graduation, Carol took a job as a flight attendant with People's Airlines which allowed her to embrace her adventurous spirit and travel around the world and also visit Tom wherever he was stationed. Once married, they settled in Lawton, Oklahoma and then onto Corpus Christi, Scottsdale, Houston, Cincinnati, Virginia, and Chicago with a final stop for the last 20 years in Austin, Texas. Along the way Carol acquired many lifelong friendships. She embraced each move with joy and set about creating a beautiful home filled with love, laughter and friends.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Tom; her daughter, Tara and husband Mitchell Landgrebe, brother Stephen Barna (Cindy) and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Carol will be remembered by her love of life and generous spirit. She never missed a birthday or holiday celebration for all those she loved. She would be the last one left at a family get together - cleaning all the dishes in the sink. Need a travel buddy to visit a child away at college - she would have her bag packed in a second, waiting at the door with a huge smile. And once inside her door, you would find evidence of her gift of decorating, for wherever the Anderson Family landed, Carol would create a "magazine-worthy" home filled with treasures found near and far.
Carol was also known for her kindness, sense of humor and love of animals. As long as she had her furry friends snuggled around her, she was always at peace. Her family and friends will always remember her warm smile and the joy she brought to their lives.
Visitation for Carol will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing Rd., Lakeway, TX, followed by a celebration of life from 12 PM - 3 PM in the Great Hall.
