Vivian Bernice Eckhardt was born on January 20, 1951 to Claudie Mae Mayse and James Washington in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Her compassion and dedication to helping those in need was apparent to anyone who came in contact with her. Vivian was devoted to her children and instilled in them the values of hard work, love, and respect for others.
Above all, Vivian was a Christian woman who believed in putting the Lord first in her life's journey. Vivian departed this life on April 15, 2013 at the age of 62. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. Left to cherish Vivian's memory is her husband of 20 years, Eric R. Eckhardt, her six children, 11 grandchildren, two brothers, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in West Palm Beach with burial to follow at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dorsey-E Earl Smith Funeral Home in Lake Worth.
