Ron was an amazing daddy, grandpa, and great grandpa. He was a man of his word, a man of integrity. Ron was dependable, kind, and generous, with a great sense of humor. He was a big supporter of the arts and education, and donated to many charities. He was truly a strong man and leader, in his family, business, and life.
Ron began his career in the military, serving in the United States Air Force, and later working for the USAF as a civilian overseas. He went on to become a successful business man in the world of medical electronics and medical equipment, having worked for American Optical and then owning a number of his own businesses, including Cardiotronics, Medelco, and then Sunshine State Medical Equipment.
Ron loved his family and he loved to sing. He sang in many a capella groups and barbershop choruses throughout the years, including Vocal Gentry, Midnight Ramblers, Soundtrax, Third Row Center. He also would spend one of his favorite weeks every year singing and camping with a great group of longtime friends at Rompus.
We invite anyone who loved Ron to join us for a memorial celebration on April 27 at 11am at Memory Gardens Memorial Park (Tenth Ave & Kirk Rd). Lunch will be served following the service. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in his honor to one of Ron’s favorite music-based charities, the Harmony Foundation International.
