Robert G. Walton Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday September 25th, 2014 in Lake Worth, Florida. He was born October 3rd 1924 In Tarrytown New York. The son of Robert G. Walton Sr, and Helen Walton. He grew up in Irvington, New York. He proudly served in The United States Navy during World War II as a member of the First Beach Battalion. He participated in the initial assault landing of the amphibious invasion at Anzio and also participated in operations in France, Africa, Italy and Sicily. He was a Purple Heart recipient. After the war he pursued a career in Law Enforcement serving with the Gulfport, Florida Police Department, Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office, and for the last 23 years of his career with the North Palm Beach Police Department where he retired as a Sergeant.He was preceded in death by: son, Richard Walton; sisters, Dorothy, Connie and Virginia. He is survived by: wife of 45 years, Ronia Walton; son, Robert Walton (wife, Robin); son, Raymond Walton (wife, Lisa); step daughter, Louise Freeze (husband, Kirby); 11 Grandchildren; 13 Great Granchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday September 30th, 2014 with visitation from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm and the service at 2:00pm at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home 3041 Kirk Road Lake Worth, Florida. He will be laid to rest at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. He was loved and respected by all and will be missed.
