It is with great sadness that the family of Clay Moreland announce his passing on Sunday, September 29, 2024. Clay will be forever remembered by his wife of 22 years, Helen and his children, Chris (Troy) and Jennifer (Shane), grandchildren, Travis and Jordan and sister, Angeline. Clay will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Clay was predeceased by his parents, Julian and Hazel, sister, Alyce and brother, Owen.
Clay was a Vietnam Veteran Sergeant who served with the 101st Airborne Division. He flew rescue missions with Huey helicopter crew as a door gunner and medic. He retired from Pratt & Whitney in 2003. He had many interests and hobbies. He built black powder rifles and hand forged knives. Many good times were had riding his Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle and he had a passion for his Z06 Corvette.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with service at 12:00 pm at Dorsey – E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. Interment will follow at the South Florida National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
