BAYROUTY – ATLANTIS / WORCESTER
George L. Bayrouty, Sr. 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2018.
Born in Worcester, MA, George was a son of the late John L. and Nafie (David) Bayrouty and lived in Worcester before moving to Westborough, and later Atlantis, Fl. He graduated from North High School in Worcester.
George leaves his wife, Joy P. (Perrin) Bayrouty, three sons, George L. Bayrouty, Jr. and his wife, Vicki of Worcester, James Bayrouty of Ridgewood, NJ, and Thomas Bayrouty of Webster, a step daughter, Debra J. Gelson of Binghamton, NY, and a step son, Richard P. Casadonte of Colchester, VT; a sister, Marion Zahka and her husband, Albert of Wellesley, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, several nephews, nieces and cousins. His former wife, Louise (Quattrocelli) Bayrouty died in 2004. A brother, Robert Bayrouty, predeceased him.
George was president and treasurer of A.B. Dick Products Company in Worcester, which later became Automated Business Products, Inc.
George was a life-long member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral and its Men’s Club and the Syrian Brotherhood Orthodox Society. He was also a member of Franklin Lodge of Masons. As an avid golfer, George could be found playing golf and socializing at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, MA where he was a member for many years. He also was a long time member of the Atlantis Golf Club in Atlantis, Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with George’s family on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 9:30-10:45AM in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM in the Cathedral with the Rev. Fr. Milad Selim, Dean of the Cathedral, officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
