Ann Carol Kosinski

Ann Carol Kosinski, 71, of Atlantis, Lake Worth, Florida, passed away on March 21, 2022, after a valiant two year battle with lung cancer. She is predeceased by her sister, Cynthia (as a teenager), husband Frederick Kosinski, father, Arthur Conlan, mother, Eva Conlan (Ricci), several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Born in Providence, R.I., she graduated from Warren High school. After moving to Florida, she went on to study Social Work at Barry University. After graduating with a master’s degree and becoming a (LCSW) Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she started her lifelong pursuit of helping others through their struggles with addiction, alcoholism, and all the trials of time on this earth. Through the years, she had her own private practice and worked at the Mental Health Hospitals and for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Community/Drug Court amongst others.

Ann touched so many lives in so many ways, and was a sensitive, caring, compassionate woman, dedicated to helping others, putting everyone’s needs ahead of her own. Anyone who ever knew her would attest to that fact. She always looked at the positive and her humor brought lots of laughs to many. She was loyal and had so many life-long friends both in Rhode Island and Florida. Ann enjoyed a loving relationship with her brother, Bud, through the years and had many adventures and enduring memories together. She always looked up to him even though he was younger.

In 1968, Ann met Frederick (Fred) Kosinski. They married and went on to have one daughter, Tammy. She was very involved and was a loving mother. Fred served proudly in the United States Air Force, was a good husband to Ann, and a devoted father. Unfortunately, the Lord called him home too early in his young life. Ann’s beautiful and gracious mother, Eva, took on the task of mother and grandmother, (while Ann continued college) and reared Tammy with immeasurable (Italian) love and affection. Eva (Nana) was called home to the Lord on March 30, 2021.

In 2002, Ann retired and spent her time mostly caring for her aunts, Theresa and Louise, then when they passed, she devoted herself to the care of her mother, Eva and her granddaughter, Jenna, whom she adored.

Still wanting to serve others, Ann served on the Board of Directors for her condo Association, Atlantis Sherbrooke Villas South, for many years in different capacities, mostly interviewing and greeting new owners and residents. She was known and loved by all who knew her there, for more than twenty years.

Ann met Ronald Burger in 1989 when they attended a Jimmy Buffet concert. Unfortunately, they separated due to life’s circumstances and lost touch. In 2014, they were reunited and so happy and they made use of their lost time together. Two years ago, Ron became her caregiver while she fought this awful lung cancer, and there were many ups and downs. He had the privilege and agony of being with her when she made her way home to Jesus.

Ann loved to learn, always acquiring new knowledge about everything via reading like her father and mother. In correlation, she enjoyed writing cards and notes and sending them through the mail about something specific that reminded her of them and to let them know she was thinking about them.

Ann, loving and devoted, is survived by her daughter Tammy, Matthew son-in-law, granddaughter Jenna, brother Arthur (Bud), sister in law Kathleen; Courtney and Sean niece and nephew; Ricci and Jasmine great niece and nephew, and Ronald Burger her companion.

She was an amazing woman and will be missed by all.

A celebration of Ann’s life is planned for Sunday, May 1, 2022 between 1:00 and 4:00 PM at the Hive Waterfront Restaurant and Tiki, 2412 Floral Rd, Lantana, Fl. 33462.
