Priest M. Brighton "Mike", age 83, of Lake Odessa, Michigan rejoined Shirley Ann in their Heavenly Home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. Mike was born on June, 2 1940 in Grand Ledge, MI to Virgo and Lottie Brighton. On September 25, 1958 he married the love of his life Shirley Ann Doty and cherished 60 years of marriage until her passing on December 6, 2018. Mike was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed his morning coffee with his friends at McDonald's as well as family camping trips. Mike coached for many years with the Special Olympics of Michigan.
He will be dearly missed by: children Cindy (Jon) Faulkner, Cheri (Ron) Halladay, Mike (Tuesday) Brighton and Jeff (Wendy Christensen) Brighton; grandchildren, Chris (Lindsey) Faulkner, Matt (Shanna) Faulkner, Drew (Ashley) Faulkner, Michael Rischow, Nicholas Rischow, Ronnie (Lisa) Halladay, Pam (George) Fancett, Parker Brighton, Alli (Nate) Smith; great grandchildren; Bobby, Aubree, Logan, Ezrah, Levi, Xavier, Axsenn, Eli, Little Ronnie, Hayden, Autumn, Bowen, sisters Grace Thomas, Blanche Spitzley, along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mike in death are his parents, wife Shirley Ann along with several siblings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 5pm until 8pm at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, MI. Graveside services will be held at 11am at Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa, MI on Friday, September 22, 2023.
Donations in Mike's name can be given to Special Olympics of Michigan or Wings of Hope Hospice.
