Lynda was born to Gaylord and Loraine (Anway) Chorley on February 28, 1943, in Hastings, Michigan. She grew up in her favorite place in the world, Lake Odessa.
In high school, she enjoyed cheerleading and working at the Dairy Bar and lifeguarding at the beach.
Lynda met the love of her life, Robert Lee Cobb Jr., at 11 years old. They were married on May 12, 1962 and had 4 children. Bob often referred to Lynda as the prettiest girl in town. They were happily married for 50 years.
Lynda graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1961 then studied at Chic University of Cosmetology. Lynda opened Cobb’s Web, raised her kids, took meals to the field, had coffees, bowled, entertained friends in her kitchen and attended church. She enjoyed volunteering for the LOHS Alumni Association and the Lake Odessa Historical Society. She was named Grand Marshall of Lake Odessa Fair in 2018.
Lynda is survived by her children: Brynda (Kevin) Merryfield, William Cobb and Laura Cobb; sister-in-law Jane Chorley and daughter-in-law Rachel Cobb; grandchildren, Elaina (Nick) Ludema, Jessica (Jason) Mays, Robert Lee Cobb IV, Kenneth Blake, Chase Michael, Elizabeth Kaye-Ann and Seth William Cobb; great-grandchildren, Cavin James, Levi Robert, Brynlee Meredith and Mara Jacquelyn Ludema, Brooke Elizabeth, Braydon Oliver Lee and Olivia Gayle Mays. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Robert Lee Cobb Jr., son Robert Lee Cobb III, brother John and niece Jamie Chorley.
Visitations will be at Koops Funeral Chapel, 935 4th Ave., Lake Odessa, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Her funeral will be Thursday, July 25 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lake Odessa Historical Society.
