Laura J. Olson, age 77, of Portland passed away surrounded by her family on December 20, 2017 at her home after a battle with cancer. On March 28, 1940 she was born in Detroit to Elbert and Grace (Ford) Brown. Laura loved spending time with her family especially spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, going to engine shows and doing crocheting.
Laura will be dearly missed by; husband Clyde Olson, children Rick (Cathy) Olson, Debbie (Gary) Jousma and Laurie Averill, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, sisters Norma Aune and Gloria (Mike) Godlewski along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant great-grandchildren Alexis and Brandon.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 6pm – 8pm at Koops Funeral Chapel, 935 Fourth Ave., Lake Odessa, MI 48849. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 1pm. Memorial contributions in Laura’s name can be given to the American Cancer Society.
