Judy, the eldest of three siblings, grew up in Michigan and graduated from Lakewood High School. Her early years were filled with music, as she delighted in singing and even served as the lead singer in a band. She also found joy in camping, foraging for mushrooms, and attending races with her first love, Gary McDiarmid Sr. Together, they built a life full of cherished memories and raised two children
Judy worked at Hallmark as a cashier and throughout her life she dedicated herself to caring for children, including her treasured grandchildren. Her nurturing heart extended to everyone she encountered, embodying kindness and generosity.
Judy lived her life surrounded by the people she loved, often singing karaoke, dancing, playing cards, crocheting with her grandchildren, enjoying bingo, attending church, and reveling in the joy of concerts. She was known for her warm spirit, always quick to lend a helping hand and create lasting memories with those around her.
She is survived by her son, Gary McDiarmid, and De McNett; her daughter, Ida, and son-in-law Wayne Neitzke; her brother, Dewey, and sister-in-law Melinda Charter; her sister, Sandra Charter, and Joe James; her nephews and extended family; as well as six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Judy’s vibrant personality and loving heart will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a future date.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to her family and friends.
