William “Bill” Manuel, 62, passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2021 in a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles and a member of Glad Tidings Church. He had a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from LSU and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from McNeese State University. Bill was a Safety Supervisor at Performance Contractors Inc., and a former Insurance Investigator.
Bill was a Christian man, who prayed for his family on a daily basis and made it a priority to attend church regularly. Bill never met a stranger; he was a loyal friend to so many! He loved his family and friends without a doubt. He was a huge football fan of LSU and the Dallas Cowboys. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing golf, traveling to sporting events and visiting with friends. You could find him walking on a regular basis at the McNeese track to get in his daily exercise. The highlight of his life was coaching softball and little league sports, watching his son, Joe play sports and enjoying quality time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his two sons, Joshua Manuel and Joseph Manuel of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Regan Theriot and Brandon of Pine Prairie; brothers, Leonard Manuel of Lake Charles, Paul Manuel of Tacoma, WA; Barry Manuel of Miami, FL; sisters, Cathy Love of Eunice; Gwen Laviolette of Duson and Debra Thibodeaux of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Landon and Callie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Omalee Manuel, brother, Dudley Manuel, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, October 11, 2021 from 11:00am until 3:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00pm. Dr. Norman Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery then a family and friends gathering at Seafood Palace Restaurant.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the children of Bill to help with funeral expenses.
