Walter Ray Anderson

Mr. Anderson, a resident of Shreveport, LA, was born on February 15, 1937 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 106 and served as Business Manager of Local 141 for fifteen years. He was also appointed and served for ten years as a Board Member of the State Plumbing Board of Louisiana. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Shreveport lodge.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Virginia Brantley Anderson; daughter, Connie Anderson Hoffpauir, and husband, Gerald, of Moss Bluff, LA; daughter Frankie Anderson Norton, and husband, Steve, of Shreveport, LA; son, Michael C. Anderson of Elysian Fields, TX; five grandchildren, Audrey Norton Schexnailder, and husband Michael, of Katy, TX, Jared Wayne Hoffpauir of Lake Charles, LA, Courtney Gayle Hoffpauir of Moss Bluff, LA, Kristin Anderson Alaniz, and husband, Blayne, of Waco, TX, and Rachel Michelle Anderson of Elysian Fields, TX; and one great-grandson, Neil Andrew Schexnailder.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Clyde Anderson; his mother, Lillian Seward Anderson Miller; brother, Alton F. Anderson; sister, Clydie Sue Anderson Cromwell; and daughter-in-law, Terri Mendenhall Anderson.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home, 3001 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Tuesday until time of service.
