Virginia Arnold Nicholson

She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO and was a resident of Lake Charles. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Vic Club. She was a member of the American Legion Post 1 and the Enterprise Club. She was a Pink Lady at LCMH. She retired from Nursing with WCCH after 30 years of service.

She is survived by her son, George Nicholson of Lake Charles; daughters, Susan Nicholson and companion, Rayburn Bushnell of Lake Charles and Sally Bryant and husband, Teddy of Holly Springs, MS; brother, Jerry Arnold and wife, Ernestine of Poplar Bluff, MO and Robert “Bob” Arnold and wife, Dorothy of Fairfax, CA; sisters Judy Burgess and sister-in-law, Lyla Arnold both of Poplar Bluff, MO; grandchildren, Ashley Nicholson, Kelly Nicholson, Brittney Nicholson Rhodes and husband, Dalton, and Leigh Bryant and husband, Tommy; great grandchildren, Dylan, Madison, Nicholas Tanner, Lauren, Nathan, and Baby Rhodes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Nicholson; brother, Bud Arnold, Don Arnold and Deloy Arnold; sister, Norma Killian.

Her funeral will be 2pm, Thursday, August 2, 2012 at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Louis Blankenbaker and Rev. Weldon Bares will officiate. Visitation will begin Thursday, 8am until 11am at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and resume at the church at 1pm until service time. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery.
