Virgil Lee Fuselier, age 91, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024. Virgil was born on December 15, 1932 in Bell City, Louisiana. He lived in Lake Charles for many years before moving to Lafayette where he lived for 19 years. He returned to Lake Charles in 1987.
Virgil proudly served in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict, graduated from McNeese State University in 1960, and he worked for Gulf States/Entergy for 36 years before retiring in 1995. Virgil attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
Virgil was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jackie Hinman Fuselier, and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Eddie Fuselier.
He is survived by his three children, Grady Fuselier, Drew Fuselier (Kim), and Dionne Moore (Lewis); five grandchildren, Blaine Fuselier, Britnee Fuselier (Bryce), Dane Fuselier (Alley), Cory Fuselier (Kristen), and Allyshia Marion; and six great-grandchildren, Micah, Avery, Emery, Harper, Logan, and Rhyder.
Virgil's family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Ivory & Twyla Levi, the staff at The Carriage House, and Harbor Hospice for the wonderful care given to their father.
A Graveside Service officiated by Rev. Jace Eskind will begin at 1pm Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Sallier Cemetery under the direction of J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home.
