Jim was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles where he owned Meche's Trim and Upholstery Shop Inc.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gerda Meche; children, Kathy Wilson and husband Bruce, Richard Meche and wife Jan, Lisa Mancil and husband Richard and Alma Fisher and husband Ken; ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Monday, March 6, 2023 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be immediately following at Grand Lake Community Cemetery. Deacon Tony Pousson with St. Margaret Catholic Church will be officiating at the services.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Brookdale Assisted Living, Guardian House and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care through their time of need.
