Shelby Roy Fontenot

He was born June 21, 1944 in Jennings, LA to Nelson and Rose Marcantel Fontenot. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and seven brothers.

Surviving is his wife of 15 years Audrey of Iowa, one son Clinton Fontenot and his wife Aimee of Iowa, one brother, Murray Fontenot of Bundick Lake, one sister Mildred LeFleur of LeBleu Settlement and four grandchildren and many extended family members. Special thanks to Priscilla and Craig Streams for all the care, love and support.

Roy worked with Canel Co. and then worked as a supervisor with the City of Jennings for many years before retiring. He was of the Catholic Faith and enjoyed tending his farm and raising his cattle and horses.

A visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles and will resume Wednesday at 8:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home. Father Matthew Cormier will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
