Ruby was born March 01,1932, in Ritchie, LA and resided in Cameron until 2021 when she moved to Iowa. She was employed by Dr.Clark as a nurse assistant, Self-Employed at Mobil Gas Station, a Sales Representative for Avon, Stanley, Watkins, as well as a manager of Dollar General Store where she retired. Ruby in her early years alongside her previous husband, Wilbert Miller, helped organize church bazaars, the Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo, as well as the Fur Festival in Cameron.
She was an avid member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church where she was part of the Catholic Daughters, taught CCD, sang in the choir, attended any-and-all retreats she could all over the world, and helped with duties to maintain the church. In her spare time, she loved sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren, quilting and reading her newspaper. She was also known to sign her adult children up for duties around the church with them having no prior knowledge. As well as cooking a feast for all no matter if you already ate.
She is welcomed into Heaven by her former husband, Wilbert "Poncho" Miller; her parents, Ovey & Agnes (Daigle)Cormier; daughter Greta Ronsonet; siblings, Elta Fruge, Calvin Cormier, Elton Cormier, Leonard Cormier, Lee Cormier, Cary Cormier, Ella Mae Miller and Rena Spearing; Granddaughter Patricia(Trisha)Hay, and Great-Grandson Tyler(Ty)Monceaux.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Jimmie Stoute of Iowa, LA; children, Madeleine(Walter) Gunter of Carlton, GA, Penelope(Dell) Thompson of Magnolia, TX, Florette(John) Zamora of Sulphur, LA, Priscillia(Milton) Collins of Grand Lake, LA, Roxanne Corbello of Sulphur, LA, and Keith Stoute(Samantha) of Magnolia, MS; 17 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Great Great-Grandchildren; Siblings, Bernice Martin of Vinton, LA, Virginia Taylor of Iowa, LA, Gus Cormier of Sulphur, LA, and Silton Cormier of Scott, LA.
Pallbearers included: Doug Vidrine, Blaine Ronsonet, Jade Ronsonet, Tony Maxwell, Cody Parker, Irvin(TMan) Trahan Honorary: Gus Cormier, and Trey Jeffries.
The family would like to invite relatives and friends to Hixson Lake Charles Chapel of Peace on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 4 pm for visitation until 8 pm. There will be a Cursillo rosary recited at 6 pm.
Visitation will resume on Tuesday, October 01, 2024, at Hixson Chapel of Peace from 9 am until the procession to St. Martin De Porres for a funeral mass at 11 am.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens following services.
