Richard Murray Moore, 49, was born on June 13, 1967 and entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2017, in a hospice care facility in Baton Rouge, LA after a brief illness. Richard’s special life was spent surrounded by family and loved ones in Lake Charles and Baton Rouge. Richard’s sweet heart touched everyone with whom he came in contact.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Mary Louise Johnston Moore and Billy H. Moore of Lake Charles and his older brother William Scott Moore, Sr.
He is survived by his sister, Janet Moore Duhy and her husband, Fred, of Baton Rouge, LA; nieces, Sharon Duplachan Robinson and her husband, Scotty, Evan Duhy Tran and her husband, Quan, of Tampa, FL; his nephew, Seth Duhy of Los Angeles, CA; his cousins, Betty Harlow Anderson and her husband, Charlie, of Lake Charles, and Vicki Poe Moore Thompson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his nephew, William Scott Moore, Jr.; his great nephews, Gavin Paul Hymes, Ari and Mathis Tran, Colby Robinson, Caleb Robinson, Alex Leach Potts, Jackson Eubanks, and Mason Moore; plus a host of other cousins and relatives.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Funeral service will be held at Hixson Funeral Home, 3001 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Katie Black will officiate. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park.
