Mary Ann Sonnier

Lake Charles - Mary Ann Sonnier, 57, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a resident of Lake Charles, LA.

Mary was born on October 1, 1955 in Jennings, LA. She was raised in the Welsh area and was a 1974 graduate of Welsh High School.

Mary never met a stranger and was loved by many. She enjoyed caring for her family and deeply loved life. She will be remembered for the compassion that she showed others. Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons; Heath Sutherland of Lake Charles and JR Sutherland of Austin, TX; her two adorable grandchildren, Caleb Sutherland of Houston, TX and Clara Sutherland of Austin, TX;, her companion, Mike Rice of Sulphur; brother, Aubry Sonnier and wife Marcelitte of Jennings; sisters, Pruvina Boudreaux and husband Darrell of Lafayette; Charlotte Mitchell of Lake Charles; brother-in-law, Wayne Pickle of Westlake. Mary was loved by her nieces, Tammy LeJeune, Shelly Main, Cathy Tradewell and Lisa LaCombe, nephews, Kent, Kevin and Kirk Boudreaux, Joshua Bourgeois, Karl Pickle and Justin Sonnier, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. She will be also missed by her precious dog Ginger. She is preceded in death by her parents, Zenis and Francis Sonnier; sister, Debra Pickle; nieces Rosalyn and Catherine Sonnier, nephews, Chad and Richard Troy Sonnier.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, Monday, August 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Father Charles McMillian will officiate.
