Mary Lou LeDoux, age 90, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Mary was born in Lyons Point, Louisiana to Joseph Mire and Edna Cormier Mire and moved to Sulphur when Mary was nine years old.
Mary graduated from Sulphur High School and was employed at W.R. Grace as a secretary. It was during this time when she met her husband Benny Ray "Pete" LeDoux. They married on July 30, 1955 and settled in Lake Charles where they raised seven beautiful children. Mary and Pete loved to work on home projects and take care of their flowers and garden.
Mary was an accomplished artist who loved to paint flowers and landscapes. Her art was displayed and sold at art shows. She also cared for many children throughout her life who affectionately knew her as Miss Doux.
Mary was preceded in death by her two sons, Edward Ray LeDoux, and Daniel Mitchell LeDoux, and her parents, and her sisters, Miami Thibodeaux and Annis Schexnider;
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 69 years, Benny "Pete" LeDoux; Son, Ross LeDoux (Shontel); daughters, Debra Dupre (Jimi), Paula LeJeune (Greg), Terri Pruner (David), and Tracie LeDoux (Renee'); grandchildren, Paige Self, Danielle LeDoux, Lauren Pruner, Alexis Dupre, Tristan Pruner, Madison LeDoux, Regan LeDoux, and Ty Touvell; great-grandchildren, Corey, Chianna, Cha'Nya, and Lilah; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, November 23, 2024 in the Chapel of Lilies at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Mary's funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Josh Page officiating. Burial will follow in Sallier Cemetery. Fond memories and condolences may be shared with Mary's family at www.JEHixson.com
