Martha Louise Duhon

Mrs. Duhon was born November 1, 1932 in Eunice, Louisiana to Maney and Rose Gaspard. She was one of 12 siblings raised on a small farm in the country near Basile Louisiana. She married Warner Duhon on July 9, 1956 and has 2 children, Christine Bertrand and Greg Duhon. She has 4 Grand Children, 7 Great Grand Children and 1 Great Great Grandchild, all of whom have survived her. With all of her brothers and sisters, she also has a large number of nieces and nephews who all remember Aunt Martha.

The outdoors was her place of peace. In the heat or in the cold she spent at least a few minutes outside feeling the breeze on her face. She was seldom happier than when she was on the shoreline or in a boat with her fishing pole in her hands, patiently waiting for a nibble.

She is preceded in death by sisters Dolly Watts and Margie Kellner, and brothers Russell, James, Roy, and Joe Gaspard. She is survived by brothers George and Mike Gaspard and sisters Ruby Manuel, Barbara Fuselier and Janelle Manuel.

The service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume on Friday from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
