Born on April 06, 1954, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Vivian Batiste and Roosevelt Daniels, Marshall lived a life of profound dedication and love.
A patriot at heart, Marshall graduated from W.O. Boston High School in 1975 before embarking on a journey of service to his country. He served proudly in the U.S. Army as a Radio Teletype Operator, stationed at Ft Lewis, Washington, earning an M16 Sharpshooter Qualification Badge.
Following his military service, Marshall dedicated 33 years of his life to the U.S. Federal Government at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, in Bremerton, Washington. Starting as a Sandblaster and Painter for Shop 71, he rose through the ranks to retire as a Supervisor, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
Marshall was a man of boundless talents and passions. He found joy in crafting with his hands, indulging in hobbies like traveling, golfing, basketball, football, running track, softball, darts, coaching pee-wees, listening to music, drawing, cooking, painting and above all, spending cherished moments with his beloved family, especially his kids and grandkids. Marshall loved being, “Paw-Paw”!
A lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, Marshall was ecstatic when his favorite team won the Super Bowl, as well as being blessed to witness his nephew Jason Terry win an NBA championship, a moment in time he always cherished. He also looked forward to The Masters every year, thanks to his favorite golfer, Tiger Woods.
An avid gamer, Marshall shared this unique bond with his namesake son and grandson, who will proudly carry forward his legacy. The Three Marshalls, forever.
The proud father of a baby girl, Marshall created a special, lifelong, unbreakable bond with his namesake daughter, one that meant more than the world to them both.
Marshall’s love for his children knew no bounds, as evidenced by his joy in giving his daughter's hand in marriage to Antoine, whom Antoine lovingly referred to him as "Pops", for twenty-three years.
His journey was marked by both joy and sorrow. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Vivian; four brothers-Hillman, Robert, Roosevelt (Poose), and Alfred; three sisters-Katherine, Liz and Tara; and also Roosevelt Daniels, leaving behind a profound void in the lives of those who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Marshall David Daniels II; daughter, Maurshell LaRue Aaron, and her husband, Antoine Aaron; the love of his life, Elise LaRue Daniels; grandchildren, Lexus, Marshall III, and Anesia (Zavier Jr.); great-grandchildren, Arielle and Zyon; four God sons; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Marshall's presence was a vibrant thread, weaving love, laughter, and cherished memories into the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him, even if by chance.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a pillar of strength, a beacon of love, and a guiding light in the lives of those he touched. Rest in peace, Marshall David Daniels Sr. Go Saints!⚜️
Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at Noon in the Chapel of Lilies at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux will lead services.
